Unlike some other countries around the world, in England hallmarks are applied
by a government registered body NOT the manufacturer

The rules state that for items made of gold which weigh over 1 gram
and items made of silver which weigh over 7.78 grams
must have a hallmark applied ( this is not just 375 or 750 or 925 )

Items below the above weight's are exempt from hallmarking

My made to order signet rings, and all wedding rings, are pre-hallmarked,
before shaping and finishing, so all will arrive with a UK hallmark.

All stock items have full English hallmark as required by relevant rules.

The hallmarking office has a minimum charge per parcel of £8.50
add to this registered postage each way and a parcel costs appx £22.00
most made to order clients leave insufficient time for this added service
and do not anticipate the extra time or expense

When mass produced items are made, usually in 100's and sent to hallmarking in
large batches each hallmark cost's less than 50p

In the case of name pendants, & bespoke orders, For overseas orders
I do not have to hallmark, and will stamp with relevant marks, ie 375, 925 etc.

When buying items from international sellers / websites.
Most international, and some UK sellers will describe goods as hallmarked 925 for silver or hallmarked 375 for 9ct gold
If re-sold by a UK supplier "like myself" these items should be sent to a UK assay office for hallmarking to comply in UK
Unsafe levels of Nickel, and other metals in China & India imports
There have been numerous reports in newspapers, on the television, and warnings on the internet regarding products
which have caused allergic reactions, rashes, and in the case of dangerously high nickel content, long term health problems.
I only use bullion purchased from UK bullion companies, Any item that passes UK hallmark is guaranteed to be safe !!!
